Boy is it annoyingingly difficult to get a respected certification in business change below a masters degree.  This hurts on two sides; firstly clients ask for seasoned business change managers and consultancies provide them with project managers.  The distinction is difficult for clients to spot however it is obviously wide; one focused on the delivery of outputs whereas the business change consultant is focused upon the realisation of benefits through using the outputs in particular business areas.

Secondly those with business change experience often struggle to credentialise themselves as a practice area and get assigned to project and programme delivery.

Lets hope this will soon change and we can get grass roots qualifications in business change just like we get in PRINCE 2 / PMI etc.
